Background
I am a Technical Consultant working for Autodesk. My experience spans over 10 years in Architecture, including both Project and CAD Management. Now, as a Technical Consultant, I am responsible for implementing Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Architecture, establishing best practices and assisting in the transition from traditional CAD drafting.
My work with other disciplines employing an integrated approach to design, and a belief in sustainable practice has led to ultimately seeing Revit Architecture as the future of how buildings will be designed. I am also fluent in AutoCAD Architecture. In my previous life, I have played the part of a CAD Manager, a Designer, and have served as an independent CAD consultant. I’ve used AutoCAD Architecture (formerly Architectural Desktop) since the software was first released and began using AutoCAD with release 9. For visualization, I use Autodesk Viz and Autodesk Impression.
I have authored Computer Based Training (CBT) learning tools formatted for DVD and online. I can provide customized software through user interface customization, custom content and programming with AutoLisp. I’ve presented at various user groups and events, and was an organizer and served as the chairperson of the Boston Society of Architects Autodesk User Group.
Goal
Paradigm shift attempts to share experiences on what works, and sometimes what doesn’t work, from a real-world perspective. I’ll try and keep things light and free of overly technical speak.
Here goes nothing…
